Well, Napster is back with a legit version, which is exactly what I've been waiting for. Haven't been able to do I-Tunes because I use a PC at home and won't switch to Jaguar on my work Mac.

I don't buy a lot of albums because I tend to be finicky and get bored easily. As in, I only like a song or two off any one album. Legal file sharing -- sign me up baby!

I predict I shall be a CD-burnin' fool over the next few weeks.

You know that there's iTunes for Windows now, right?

What Joey said. I recommend iTunes for Windows over Napster 2.0 any day.

Tried iTunes - couldn't get it to play nicely with XP - it refused to download a file we'd already paid for..... {grump}

You know, those dipshits from the RIAA are missing the boat in more ways than one.

If all the recording companies would put their entire catalogs online, and I mean every flippin' album ever recorded by any artist all the way back to Big Eddie Edison and his Little Lamb, and charged a buck a song to download... they'd be rolling in so much money they could give every garage band in the USA a recording contract and never even blink.

I'm a-gonna check out the new Napster myself.

You don't need to upgrade to Jaguar to use the iTunes Music store. I have OS 10.1.5 installed and have accessed the store and bought bucketfuls of songs many times. I believe I only had to upgrade my OS from version 10.1.2 and my iTunes to version 4 from 3.

No, I don't have ANY version of 10. I'm still on OS 9. I'm thinking of keeping a gun in my office to keep the tech guys from forcibly switching me. I and one other person in my office are the lone holdouts among hundreds.

However, as far as itunes is concerned, I guess this is all moot since I can do it on Windows, at home.

It occured to me later that you might not have X at all. :)

And I favor rubber-band guns.
