My co-worker brought me a classified ad listing an apartment. It read something like "2 BR, unfurnished, in italian eight house."
I was like, "italian eight? italian eight? I don't understand." She told me to say it fast. Oh.... Italianate. So the question is, who's the dumbass--the landlord (if it was submitted in writing) or the person who took the order (over the phone)?
Italian Eight! Whoooo!

I was reading an article about the Kobe Bryant case. With it was a photograph of some fan's car that had "KOBE DIDN'T DO IT" written in shoe polish in the back window. I find that so irritating. I wanna say, based on what evidence, oh omniscient one? I could accept "Give the man his day in court" or "presumed innocent until proven guilty" but the outright arrogance of what they wrote is galling. If it was his mom's car, I'd let it go. But some yutz who has merely watched his games? Not so much.
I've been reading the criticisms of Mother Theresa and they're so depressing. Not because they aren't credible, but rather because they do seem to have some validity. I very much wanted to believe that she was a saintlike person who made a big difference in the lives of the poor, and who was blameless. Now it seems that isn't true, at least not in the way I thought.
