Recycled Detroit Stuff
I always like stories like this.
There was a project at Michigan that assembled teams of students from various schools across campus. Their mission: to design a product that used recycled materials from Detroit and could be made & sold by a social service agency within the city which puts people to work.
They came up with some neat ideas that stayed simple while reusing materials (funny that it resulted in two kinds of flip-flops). They're having a "trade show" tonight, but their stuff is also on the web--each product has a simple website explaining it.
