I made only one New Year's Resolution this year. That was to have more gatherings/parties. You know, host more people. And last night I started to make good on that. We had seven people over: our neighbor and his girlfriend; Hello Again from the SDMB; my friends Marisa and Chris, and Ruth and Chris, whom I used to say were Joey Hemlock's friends but now I think I can claim them as my own as well. It was very nice. We ate dinner and then played some games.

And my in-laws have told us they'll take Kirk again after they get back from NYC in a few weeks. It seems that now Mark is working they're feeling more helpful. I had no idea this was tied to his job (or lack thereof). So maybe we can have a poker party later this month. Heads up MrBlue--and anyone else who plays poker.

Our Tivo has begun to make some guesses about what we might like to watch. Yesterday it suggested Family Ties. Yes, Family Ties! I was so offended.

Mark's new computer got here. It's a slick little thing. I will then get his computer and my wonky old thing can go in the dustbin. Woo-hoo!
