Home again, home again.

We're home from Maine, the trip was excellent. More on that later.

I just learned that the secretary/office manager/person who keeps the lower school running at Kirk's school is headed to Beijing to watch her daughter compete in the Olympics (women's water polo). It's nice to have some "connection" however tenuous to a sport or athlete; it makes it more interesting. Mrs. G is awesome--they dedicated the yearbook to her last year and some kid wrote "Thanks for not being grossed out by all my nosebleeds" which I just loved.

I am now fostering six very fat rats. These fellows are really something.

Mt house was a mess before we left--the addition of partially unpacked suitcases and a week's worth of mail did not improve matters. I was going to clean up while the kid was at baseball practice, but he came home early due to arm pain. He had a fall in Maine that whacked his arm good; he seemed to recover, but now I'm thinking we may be in for a doctor's visit.

Off to go move stuff around and pretend that's "cleaning."
