Too much drama for a Saturday morning.

Holy shit. About three minutes after we picked my son up from his workday at the nature center (he left early for a soccer game) all the remaining kids got caught in the middle of a situation where armed fugitives were fleeing the police, on foot, through the woods. Police in pursuit with tasers and who knows what. It sounds like it was really scary. Not like " oh, hypothetically the bad guys may have come this way" -- the kids actually saw the fugitives up close. Nobody was hurt, but it sounds like there are some freaked out kids. It also sounds like one of the Campfire leaders was awesome--she went into momma bear mode and hollered out info so the police would know there were KIDS in the woods.

Man. We are all meeting up again for a campout tonight and I am sure this will completely dominate conversation.
