Some alum and his wife decided to Kayak the Mississippi river from start to finish (MN to LA). It took them two months -- and they shared some neat pictures and narrative in this slideshow. I really enjoyed it, but then I'm a sentimental geek about America's great waterways.

There's a cool screenshot where they used google earth to figure out there they were.
