I continue to be amused that NPR's morning edition did a story on Pearl Jam. I guess it's a tie-in with their appearance on Fresh Air, but it's still amusing to me. NPR is liberal, but I think of them as being a bit stodgy in the morning.

Date: 2003-06-19 07:40 am (UTC)There is a programme on Irish Radio called "the Arts Programme" and is usually a fairly stuffy, stodgy affair, but I happened to tune in one show where the host, Mike Murphy, a man in his 60s and a few other "arts critics" were discussing the relative merits and history of Gangster Rap. I nearly wet myself hearing them play "Straight outta Compton" by NWA.
