I hate bad news from the SDMB

Aw crap. I just read on the boards about lieu's wife having a tumor on her spine. lieu has always been a pal to me--his TMI posts (aren't they all TMI?) make me whoop with laughter, but he's also a nice guy one-on-one via e-mail. We don't write often, but occasionally he'll wing something my way. I was very sorry to hear they are facing something so scary and so unknown.

Oh, and FTR, I don't mind when Dopers ask for good thoughts or prayers for themselves or their families--it was the "prayers for my mailman's sister" threads that had me bitching a few weeks ago.

In other news, my cholesterol is 211, which is not cool. Hello, oatmeal.

I am so sorry about your friend's wife. I hope he's glad to know he's got the support of an online community of friends like you, though.

And hon, my cholesterol, before medication, was, 290. Oatmeal and I now go waaaay back. I haven't had a piece of cheese that wasn't skim in two months. wah. Oatmeal will help a lot, and also going low-fat or non-fat on the dairy, too.
