Well, I got cocky. Turns out I have the CD burning software, but not the CD burning hardware. But I did get some good stuff loaded onto the PC, so when I get the right kind of drive I'll be good to go.

I'm sort of reluctant to put a new drive in, after our disasterous experience with the last computer. Didn't matter whether we installed it or paid an expert, sooner or later the thing would get fucked up again.

My husband does not like the new housekeeper's personality. I'm not the one who is home when she's there, so it's his call.

People in Ann Arbor seem to charge around $20 an hour. Might be able to get a better rate in Monroe. I find it is utterly worth it. I hate cleaning bathrooms and I almost never vacuum my steps. With a housekeeper, I know those things actually get done. Some housekeepers will do laundry and change bedlinens, but we've never requested that. I just want them to dust, vacuum, and clean up the joint.
