My god, Mars is absolutely EYE-POPPING! It helps that I am on the extreme south end of Ann Arbor, so looking South there is not much light pollution. Kyla can attest to the excellent night sky when looking up from my yard. Mars, though....it makes me want to run out and buy a telescope.

By the way, laugh all you want, I actually *liked* the movie "The Red Planet."

There are too many trees where I live to see Mars, because it's in the South.

And yes, I will laugh at you for liking the Red Planet. Val Kilmer? ?

Maybe I'll bring my telescope to A2 someday. I never used it the WHOLE TIME I was there, the sky was always too hazy. Or it was too cold.

Dang! I just remembered, Vengeant has a telescope. Mars doesn't look all that impressive through our binoculars. I gotta see if I can put the telescope on the camera tripod somehow.

The local community college has opened up their observatory to the public a few nights a week thru mid-Sept - I need to double-check their schedule & go take a look.

I was too lazy/tired to go Mars-gazing whilst Up North this weekend. :^(
