Well, I got cocky. Turns out I have the CD burning software, but not the CD burning hardware. But I did get some good stuff loaded onto the PC, so when I get the right kind of drive I'll be good to go.

I'm sort of reluctant to put a new drive in, after our disasterous experience with the last computer. Didn't matter whether we installed it or paid an expert, sooner or later the thing would get fucked up again.

My husband does not like the new housekeeper's personality. I'm not the one who is home when she's there, so it's his call.

TV Guide (inexplicably we get FIVE copies sent every week to our office, gratis) mentioned that an oldie called "Footlight Parade" was showing this week on TCM. They said some of the dance numbers were better than 42nd street, which I loved. I Tivoed that sucker.

Tomorrow night is book club. I hope the raging cuntbeast shuts up. Maybe one of her horses will kick her and she'll have to miss the meeting.

A friend of mine just sent me one of those sappy things that goes around about what to look for in friends. It then said to pass it on to someone who means something to you, whose friendship you appreciate, who makes you smile, blah blah blah.

Stuff like this often gets a rolleyes from me, but this is from a friend who doesn't usually send this stuff out. She is someone who I would like to see more of. We keep trying to take it to the next level, I think, but she's got four kids and lives 20 minutes away and our two schedules don't work out that often. Sometimes I wonder/worry that it isn't working because she's ambivalent about me. So this message was a real shot in the arm, and really made my day.

Don't worry, I promise not to send it on to any of you.

I just experienced my first automobile/deer collision. Not cool. My car isn't bad. Not sure how the deer is, as it got up after a minute and tried to take off. I could hear it panting as it tried to find a break in the fence. It was a faun.

I feel pretty bad about hitting it.

Oops, edited to add: I'm just fine physically. Nothing happen to me. I didn't slam on the brakes hard enough to jerk myself, and the deer didn't hit enough of my car to jolt it.
