Why is this so typical?

My craigslist ad:
"This is a Sony (model number) and comes with remote and manual"
Respondent to ad:
"What is the model number? Does it come with a remote?"
LORD, people.

Date: 2007-04-11 03:26 pm (UTC)I also had someone ask about my couches. When I called her, she said "Which one are you, again? I setn out emails on a bunch of stuff." When I told her mine were the green leather ones (figuring that was sufficiently distinctive) she said "I was in a hurry, too, so I didn't really read the ads."

Date: 2007-04-11 07:59 pm (UTC)Incidentally, i sold my washer this way, and I loved the guy I sold it to. He said his wife has been using one that was nearly 30 years old and would be THRILLED to have my 10-year old one. I was sorta thinking one shouldn't abandond a washer that has worked for 30 years, but whatever. I was just so pleased to know someone would be welcoming my old washer with open arms, maybe even a big kiss on the lid.

Date: 2007-04-13 01:44 pm (UTC)It's in limbo, because I've been back-and-forthing with some guy who had a bunch of questions (not stupid ones like "does it have a remote," thankfully) and I don't know where he is on it. He's got transportation problems (I think it has to be transported upright, not sure; he's trying to figure this out too). So let me get back to you.

Date: 2007-04-17 04:01 pm (UTC)I once posted a curb alert on CL, which basically read, "Hey, there's this cool old-looking mirror in a wooden frame behind this street in this alley on the west side; go get it before trash day. It's not mine, so don't ask me questions about it." I got a guy who replied back asking me the dimensions of the item in question, whether or not it was still there (I was at work, not near the alley behind my house), and whether or not it was a real antique.
