I gotta admit, when it comes to other Big Ten schools, Wisconsin probably holds the dearest place in my heart. I like the people I've met from there, the institution is very similar to U-M in ways I value, they've got a cool mascot, etc. And they're in a state that gives us lots of nice cheese. U-W kicks more ass than the average person might realize. I loves me some Wisconsin.

But I think they're in the wrong here in this lawsuit (see below). I mean, I get why organizations defend their logos, but you'd have a hard time convincing me that a blue motion logo outlined with white is going to be confused with a big ol' red one.

Plus, they look like an ass picking on a school in Topeka.

i dunno. out and out theft of a logo, aside from the color, and then selling products to make money, i'd say there's a really good case there. i don't think that there's anything to argue against with the "goodwill" thing, but they've got a good theft or at the very least trademark infringement (it's really insulting that washburn trademarked their w, which is very clearly wisconsin's). but i'm a wisconsin fan, so maybe i'm a bit jealous of our motion w. i still remember when they started using it.
