I was caught up in reporting on the fire response that I never wrote much about the Hoover Dam visit.
The really stunning thing was seeing the work on the bypass, which is going to be a big ass arch deck bridge over the Colorado.

When we were there, they didn't have the arch built yet, but did have the longest support column that was anchored to the canyon on the AZ side. On the right, in the rendering above.

Let me tell you, my stomach turned over just looking at it. It is HIGH.
