I am hopelessly behind on LJ and will never catch up.
I'm watching a show on drag queens and I find it really complimentary and affirming that they are so into acting like women and flaunting their feminine side. They're hot, they're sexy, they're over the top. I'm should probably be a little threatened--they are a lot more sexy and feminine that I've ever been!
Visited my parents this weekend. Notable events included sharing the lake with 30,000 geese, watching a bald eagle rip a duck apart for dinner, seeing my brother-in-law on the news for participating in the Polar Bear Plunge, and seeing my father's crane feted at the premiere of "Cranes on Parade". You know, Chicago had cows, Cincinnatti had pigs, my hometown is doing Cranes.
Work SUCKS this week. Jesus, I can't even begin to count the ways. I knew before 9:30 a.m. today that the entire week was going to suck eggs.
Kirk has an interview for his prospective nursery school next week. Gee whiz, an interview.

Date: 2003-03-03 08:47 pm (UTC)Good grief, are you going to get him a little power suit? I believe power ties used to be red, but then I heard that yellow was new color for power ties. Are the velcro sneakers power sneakers this year? You might want to consult with Manny on this one.
Yay! Cranky's back!
Date: 2003-03-04 06:15 am (UTC)Sorry about the sucky week - I've run out of things to do for the nonce & am therefore spending way too much time on the Web.
RE: the interview -- Does Kirk know how to shake hands yet? How about making friends & influencing people? I want to see the kiddie wingtips, myself..

My dad's is partway down the page, the Carousel Crane. You've got to click on the photo option to see and appreciate it. You can't see it in the photo, but he put little lights in the flowers at the base. They're fiber optic so they come on and off slowly. That's his nod to his sponsor, the Task Lighting people.
I'm biased as hell, but his crane was really one of the cooler ones. His was set up to be the first one you saw when you walked in. All of them, I must say, are cooler in person that in their photos. They're big--as tall as me.
Cool Cranes
