Now in Kirk's file there is a note that he will need remedial calendar reading, because it is apparent he'll get none of these skills from home.

We showed up at the school to learn that we were ONE WEEK EARLY. And they had someone else scheduled, so we couldn't go ahead and do it anyway.

Tomorrow I get a new dishwasher. And I am excited about it in a way that I never thought (say, at 18) I thought I could or would be. Our dishwasher is a piece of utter crap. It finally died (and only five years old). Of course, it died by secretly leaking water all over the floor, underneath the linoleum, ruining it too. Thanks so much, GE. Not sure when we are going to replace that.

My new dishwasher is a Kitchenaid. My fridge is a Kitchenaid and we've been ridiculously happy with it, so that made it a winner. Our plumber recommended a Bosch, but those things take forever to dry dishes.

Good christ, if ever an entry needed to use the lj-cut tag, this was it. My sincerest apologies to those of you who have been driven mad by the banality of my life chronicled here.l

My husband and I went bonkers with jealousy when our friends got a brand new washer and dryer. We were drooling like homer simpson about it. And I just had to look at myself in the mirror and say "dammit...you are officially an adult"

I wish I had a dishwasher. I would probably orgasm from joy if my hubby actually bought one for me.

I'm with you psyche0

Except there's no good place in our kitchen to put a dishwasher without losing a good percentage of precious cabinet space. So I continue a life with dishpan hands... :^)

When we got a new dryer, I almost climaxed. And then almost did again when it...actually got our clothes dry, something I had forgotten dryers could do. Our old one had been CALLED a dryer, so I figured in that context "dryer" meant "machine that makes your clothes warm and takes out enough wrinkles that you can easily put them on hangers so they can dry."

We got a dishwasher, too. Heaven. HEAVEN. And the landlord actually got us a new 'fridge! Here in Richmond there's a Sears scratch n' dent warehouse...oh my god. Large appliances at up to 50% off just because they have TINY - and I mean TINY - dings in insignificant places.

of having a washer and dryer someday. I love doing laundry-- I just don't like going up and down three flights of stairs to do it.

and Kitchenaid rocks. I have a fire-engine red Kitchenaid mixer that makes me squeal every time I look at it.

At least they'll never complain about you being late!

I'm with ya on the Kitchenaid, they're awesome! And you're right about the Bosch, this apartment has one and the dishes definitely don't dry well.

I must admit, I've already decided that I must have a dishwasher in my next abode. You are not alone!
