Frontline

Frontline's special on "The Undertaking" was pretty interesting. I'm a Thomas Lynch fan, anyway, and I thought it was really savvy to profile his family's funeral home business and intersperse the segments with his writings.

I also bawled a lot, but that's where I am right now.

Kim, have you seen this yet?

I recorded it and will be watching it this weekend. I am looking forward to it. Good to know it should be worth my while.

Meant to

I meant to watch it when last night I saw that it would be on. But then I forgot.

I saw it by accident. I had a different reaction to it, but I think it's because I'm so used to many aspects of it. Did I tell you where I took my resume last week?

Whoops. Wasn't logged in.

No, I don't think you did (or I didn't catch it).

I thought it was really interesting, the family going to the crematorium and putting the casket in. It makes sense, in a way, once you think about it, but that was not something I knew anyone did.

Oh man - wish I had known that was on! Will have to see if TiVo can catch a re-run.

The funeral of one of my aunts* was at one of their funeral homes back in 2004, IIRC. There were paperbacks of The Undertaking in the waiting room & when I asked if I could buy one, one of his sons gave me a copy. :^)
